The response by the industry is still very positive: 287 exhibitors from 25 countries will take part in R+T digital. 105 registrations, i.e. 37 per cent, were received from national exhibitors while 63 per cent are international participations (182 exhibitors).
In addition to Germany, the main exhibitor countries are primarily Italy, China, Spain and Turkey. However, some exhibitors also come from France, Poland, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and South Korea. “I am impressed by the great response from the industry. With regard to R+T digital, it was very important for us to fulfil the expectations concerning the internationality and product diversity of a R+T trade fair. We are therefore all the more delighted that we can keep this promise to our visitors,” said Sebastian Schmid, Department Director Technology at Messe Stuttgart. “The entire R+T team is working flat out to ensure that R+T digital is a total success for everyone involved.”
Varied accompanying programme during R+T digital
During the live period of R+T digital from 22 to 25 February 2021, visitors will be offered an extensive talk and forum programme featuring different key topics both in the conference area of the platform and in the R+T Alliance Forum. R+T Innovation Award 2021
Both the final judging and the official presentation of the R+T Innovation Award will take place concurrently with the Gastronomy Day on 22 February 2021. In the morning, all the 18 members of the jury will meet behind closed doors to choose the winners of the R+T Innovation Award 2021 from the 38 nominations from 10 countries. The nominated products will be shown to the jury for the first time in the form of video presentations and not, as in the past, live on the spot. The winners of the Innovation Award will be determined in a total of eleven categories. The jury may also award various special prizes. This year, the jury will also be able for the first time to present several Awards (Gold, Silver, Bronze) in each category. The official presentation ceremony for the R+T innovation Award will start on the evening of 22 February 2021 at 18.30 and will be transmitted live via the R+T digital platform. Visitors will therefore also be able to follow the R+T Innovation Award presentation ceremony for the first time.
During the Innovation Day (23 February 2021), every winner of the R+T Innovation Award will be presented digitally throughout the day in the conference area of R+T digital. Short presentations will provide visitors with an overview of the award-winning products in the eleven categories. All nominated and winning exhibitors of the R+T Innovation Award will also be pooled in the Innovation Theme Hall. The winners will be identified there accordingly.

About R+T digital
R+T digital will take place for the first time from 22 to 25 February 2021. On the www.rt-expo.digital platform, the industry can network and present product innovations to trade visitors all over the world in a virtual environment. The centrepiece will be the R+T Innovation Award. Furthermore, other key topics such as gastronomy, innovations, craftsmanship and architecture will also be examined. Following R+T digital, the content of the presentations will be available online for 365 days up until the next R+T. Further information is available at www.rt-expo.digital.
The R+T Innovation Award, which is awarded by the Federal Association for Manufacturers of Roller Shutters and Sun Protection (BVRS), the National Federation of Door and Gate Manufacturers (BVT), the Industrial Association for Technical Textiles, Roller Shutters and Sun Protection (ITRS), and Messe Stuttgart, honours innovative technical developments. It helps to attract the interest of experts in exemplary innovations from the industry that were launched on the market for the first time in 2019 or have been developed up to market maturity.
The Bavarian state government has announced a further easing of Covid-19 restrictions, offering the trade fair industry a clear prospect of re-opening. Provided there is a sustained decline in infection rates, it will be possible for trade fair operations to resume by 1 September 2021 at the latest. This decision reaffirms the timetable for FeuerTrutz, which is set to take place from 18 to 19 October 2021 on-site in Nuremberg with extra digital content. Following this good news, exhibitor registrations have meanwhile increased to more than 130.
